Financial Aid Services (FAS) and Genesis Software, we are known for our industry expertise with decades worth of experience. But how did our experts first begin their journey in the world of Higher Education and Financial Aid? This month, meet Kathy Hunt, our Managing Director and multi-subject expert. Learn more about her voyage to FAS below!
How did I end up as FAS? It is an interesting journey, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I truly believe all things happen for a reason!
I graduated college with a degree in Education. I was also blessed to be a collegiate athlete. The toll the body takes at this level of competition can be tough, so I spent many days in the training room having my muscle aches massaged back to health. Knowing the impact massage therapy made on my health, I decided to pursue a massage therapy license. From here, I spent several years working with athletes with sports massage and rehab therapies.
I received a call from a friend letting me know of a school in the area looking to start a massage therapy program and they asked me if I’d be interested in helping them develop this program. Fast forward one year later, I became the Director of Curriculum Development and taught Anatomy and Physiology for 10 years. Little did I realize we were a client of FAS!
My journey with FAS began in 2011, with another phone call from a friend telling me that FAS would be a great fit. I was hired in the Verification Department. Over the past 12 years, my experience in financial aid grew in many directions from verification to compliance. The rewards of working at FAS are endless. I love working with our clients and assisting in their own successes with their school and students. Along with my awesome colleagues, I look forward to many more years and opportunities with FAS!
